Hyper-V
We’ve been doing a lot of work with Hyper-V lately and it’s very impressive. I had a look at it a while back and it didn’t seem to be a match for vmware. Both products have their benefits, however the High Availability features on Hyper-V seem to work brilliantly. We’ve setup a lab with Replicated SANs, Windows Clustering and Hyper-V. We took down a host and datastore and systems became available as they where on our failover SAN and host. This can be achieved with vmware but the licensing and costs are more complicated.
There are some great products we are using right now which can greatly save on the costs of a High Availability SAN and Hosts over a traditional Virtualised environment.
