Snow Joke
It aint half been snowing!
I went out this morning, all the roads to Nottingham were gridlocked so I decided to go to a Job in Calverton.
I left Calverton at 10:30am and got home to Mansfield at 3:00pm.
On the A614 Police, Gritters and a JCB cleared the left lane and freed some stuck lorries. They did a good job, it’s just unfortunate the backlog had made all the roads gridlocked.
I took a photo just before I embarked up a hill. I had to stop at the top of the hill and almost burned my clutch out to avoid becoming stuck.
Snow Leopard
Snow Leopard is now installed on the Mac Book. I’ve not played with it properly yet as I’ve only just finished upgrading. I saw Chris and Mark using it earlier and it’s got some impressive new features. I like the fact you can Quick View and Scroll through your previewed Docs. This is going to make finding the right version of a Document a lot easier.
Grand Central appears to have made things open and process quicker, it could just be a placebo but my cores are being used properly now, even in free apps which aren’t designed with multicore processing in mind, they now get to use the multiple cores in my Mac Book.
I’m looking forward to upgrading the Mac Pro to see what happens with some of my apps which are really useful but don’t make use of my 8-cores.
Recent Pics of Mylo & Geekery
I haven’t posted any pictures of Mylo now he’s more than doubled in size, has a much larger home and looks more grown up. Bare in mind he’s still only a baby and probably only about 3 months old from Birth.
I’ve also got a picture of 10 IBM machines we bought for £50 each to do some virtualization clustering with, which is really exciting cutting edge stuff. I also felt the need to take a photo of the HP Mininote which we are currently selling with XP on. They are really neat.
And just for good measures as it’s feburary and earlier in the month is snowed like a mofo… A picture of Rainworth Bypass (a dual carriage way) – to demonstrate how much it settled.
Welcome
